Former Students Tell How Their Lives Changed With The Support Of Abana

Bosco

a proud mother.jpg

My name is Bosco. I come from Kitabi, a village in the south of Rwanda.

I currently work as a Software Engineer in the U.S. and I own a small

business in Rwanda. To some extent my life sounds like a fantastic

achievement for a young man in his 20s! And yes, it’s true! I will

tell you why. I grew up in poor conditions where we had no food and

money to pay for school.

I had a dream that one day I would go to school and study all the

way to college.

I wanted to be someone. I wanted a career. And above all I wanted to

lift my family out of poverty. As time went by those dreams started to

feel like more of daydreams or fantasies. There was just no way my family could afford all the things I need for my education and that of my siblings.

To cut the long story short, I persevered.

We sold everything we owned, but a moment came when there was nothing left to rely on. This time I met Sheila who was a Teacher at my high school. She did everything she could to help me stay in school. The journey was not easy. I needed her for everything. She was all I had.

Through her charity ‘ABANA’ she helped me graduate both high school and college. Thanks to ABANA I am now a grown up man and I am helping my relatives to have the same education I had.

There are hundreds of thousands of children who are facing the same situation. They simply need somebody to believe in them. There is so much potential and talent that we will unleash if we give these children a chance.

ABANA is a big part of my life. I will forever be grateful.

There are many more young people like Bosco who need our help to access Education. A small donation could make such a difference
